A Symbol Reimagined.

This project began with a simple fascination: the discovery of a fully functional replica of the iconic motorcycle from the Japanese animated film Akira. What followed was the ambition to photograph this cultural symbol in an unexpected way, not as a prop, but as an equal partner in a visual dialogue.
Bringing this idea to life meant organizing a challenging production abroad and developing a creative approach that honored both the film’s legacy and the craftsmanship behind the motorcycle.

Frames of Duality.

The goal was clear: to create a fashion-driven series in which the model and the machine share equal presence, forming a true symbiosis without competing for attention.
Inspired by Akira’s visual language, the shoot was built around the idea of duality : two looks, two lighting setups, and two distinct atmospheres, echoing the symbolic pill of the story.
Shot primarily on a Mamiya RB67, Akira became a creative journey shaped by precision and a deep respect for a work that has influenced generations.
